Gursimran is a filmmaker and producer based in Toronto, Ontario. He has established his own production company, BetterHalf Films, under which he has produced award-winning short films that have screened at the International Film Festival of South Asia (IFFSA) in Toronto, Ontario, and at the Emerging Lens Cultural Film Festival in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Gursimran is a member of the Canadian Media Producers Association, and the International Documentary Association.

He is a postgraduate in advanced filmmaking and arts administration (2018). Gursimran is an alumni of the EAVE Producers Program at the National Screen Institute - Canada (NSI). He also received Spotlight as one of the top 52 emerging artists from the City of Toronto under their ArtWorxTO program.

Gursimran is enthusiastic about using visual storytelling as a means to spread knowledge, spark change, and motivate action. This year, he will participate in the Whistler Film Festival's producer’s lab in addition to working on a digital comedy series, where he will advance the production of his feature script, "Subjects of the Empire."
